I’m very happy that the Broadway Market in Fells Point is getting a long overdue facelift. I am ecstatic that Sophie’s Polish Deli is still open and better than ever! Of course, no structural reworking would be complete without an overhaul of the restrooms. They are very new and clean and very accessible but there were a couple of signs hanging on the wall that made me giggle.
And this hangs right next to it…
Just so Baltimore! “Hey, don’t pretend that this plumbing oasis is your own personal spa, asshole!”(say “asshole” with a Baltimore accent and it’s much funnier.)
This reminded me of riding Amtrak between Baltimore and New York in the 90’s. Some of the restrooms on the trains had a sign that read, “Sink for hand washing only”. What else were people going to wash in those tiny basins? Testicles?!
Anyway, if you haven’t been down to the Broadway market in a while, go down there and enjoy some old school Polish Baltimore at Sophie’s, or enjoy the other lunch counters. There is so much good stuff in Fells Point. But whatever you do, don’t bring your laundry!

I can’t believe people want to stay in a tiny (often dirty) bathroom. I’m such a germaphobe, I’m in and out… fast!
I often judge a place on it’s restroom. I say things, “Good crabcakes; NICE bathroom!
Thanks for the tip, Scotty. We need those signs down at Pratt Central (aka “Central Booking”).
I have yet to enjoy the charms of Central Booking, but the night is young.
