I bought this issue of Andy Warhol’s Interview Magazine back when it came out in 1988 and I have saved it all these years. I can’t recall where I found it but I can guarantee that it was in Hawaii or Las Vegas, as I was stationed in both places in 1988. Yes, I had a couple of real hard duty stations in the Marine Corps. “Hmmm…shall I go surfing or hit the blackjack tables?”
Anyway, since Anna and I bought our first home earlier this month, I have had to ensure its’ safe passage again and luckily I was successful. It is a great interview with wonderful photos of Divine and what makes it even more important is that he died not too soon after this issue came out. So I have posted photos from that issue in this blog for all of you who are, like me, fascinated by Divine and still miss him. If you don’t dig Divine, you may have to stand trial for “Extreme Asshole-ism”.

I LOVE this collage. Check out Harris Glenn Milstead, High School Graduate in the upper left corner.
And possibly my favorite photo of Divine, ever!
I have been lucky enough to meet some of my favorite Dreamlanders. Folks like Susan Lowe and Sharon Niesp, Pat Moran and even little Noodles, Cookie Mueller’s son, Max.(he used to work at Bandaloops in South Baltimore) But I didn’t get the chance to thank Divine, in person. My loss.
